Subject : Forcing Network Speed Between 10Mbps and 100Mbps

Description :


On SunFast Ethernet and SunSwift ethernet cards, you have a
choice of speed between 10Mbps and 100Mbps.

1. ok show-devs
   You should see the full path name of the hme device.

   EX:/iommu@f,e0000000/sbus@f,e0001000/SUNW,hme@3,8c00000

2. ok nvedit

3. Type the following by pressing the return key at 
   the end of line 0:
   0: probe-all install-console banner
   1: apply transfer-speed=10 (full path from the above)

4. Press control-c after typing (full path of hme device)

5. ok nvstore

6. ok setenv use-nvramrc? true

7. Reboot your system


Note: The above example sets the speed to 10Mbps. To force
      100Mbps , replace 10 with 100 in step 3.
