Solaris 2.x 에서의 printing request-id reset


Subject : Solaris 2.x 에서의 printing request-id reset

Description :

증상1 : printing request-id 가 너무 커서 cancel 등의 명령어
        typing 등이 귀찮아 질 경우, 혹은 그밖의 이유로 인한
        request-id reset 을 하려할 경우 아래와 같이 한다.

    1.) rm -r /var/spool/lp/tmp/
    2.) rm -r /var/spool/lp/requests/
    3.) lpshut
    4.) /usr/lib/lpsched
    5.) lp command 를 사용한다.


증상2 : Solaris 2.4 에서 printing 시 
       " no more request id's " 라는 Messages 가 
        나타날 때  해결방법

    1.) Install the latest version of 101959 LP Jumbo patch. 
    2.) Remove /var/spool/lp/tmp/
    3.) Remove /var/spool/lp/requests/
    4.) lpshut
    5.) /usr/lib/lpsched
    6.) lp command 를 사용하여 printing 한다.
    7.) /var/spool/lp/tmp//.SEQF  file 을 check 한다.
        # more .SEQF
          1:59999:1:2
    8.) 이 작업을 하기 전에는 .SEQF 의 value 중 59999 가 999 였다.
        이 value 의 의미는 증가하는 request-id 의 최대값이다.
